About this deal

Fenix produce the best quality torches, headlamps, lanterns, bike lights, batteries, chargers and accessories. From mountain rescue to military, sports, Industrial and personal use, the Fenix range features a durable, high performing premium product ideal for your extreme or everyday environment. The super popular Fenix E12 has been updated to the E12 V2.0, now offering 160 lumens output from a Match CA18 cool white LED, that is all contained in a smaller, lighter weight body, while still utilising just one AA alkaline or NiMH battery. The Fenix name means “a living bird, a perfect thing” and since producing their first product on 3rd of September 2001, Fenix have always strived to achieve perfection

Receive a unit of Fenix E12 v2.0 from Fenixlight a few weeks ago (together with Fenix TK11 Tac and Fenix E28R) for testing. High-power light should use battery with high current discharge capability; We suggest using high-performance Ni-MH rechargeable battery to increase the runtime of this high-intensity light. Still, it wouldn’t hurt anything to have this light turn on in High, and it wouldn’t have cost Fenix anything extra. I don’t understand that decision.

E12 V2.0

Tail Switch: The tail switch isn’t terrible. It’s protected but still easily accessible. It feels a little mushy/spongy, but that’s not a huge deal. It doesn’t feel the best, but it works. The surface is nice, tactile rubber and it should be fairly durable.

If you still think that the flashlight is something you should carry when you wish to, think twice! A flashlight is a tool that you may need at any time, depending on the situation that you are in. So, ensure that you have an EDC light if you are afraid of carrying heavy lights.

Shown here alongside an Oveready BOSS 35 and a Fenix E01 V2. The E01 is not much smaller, and weighs just under an ounce. I’m not a huge fan of twisty interfaces, so I would almost always carry the E12 for the little bit of extra weight. Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare. The usual disclaimer: I do not claim the above measured lumens as authoritative nor an indication of over/under-stating the number given by manufacturer. It's calibrated against some known light output (e.g. SureFire, Elzetta, etc.) so take it with a grain of salt and just as a relative reading. The Fenix E12 LED light is a good investment if you want a flashlight that will last for a very long period of time. This is because it is sturdily constructed from durable aircraft-grade aluminum, which is a lightweight and strong metal. In addition, it has a type 3 hard-anodized anti-abrasive finish, which can resist corrosion and other tough conditions. The tail cap switch is designed in a way that it can protect the tail cap switch. If you intend to use the flashlight in a camp or something similar, you can make it stand on the tail cap and act like a candle.

This flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone's eyes. This is a well-built little light. I have always liked these optics that Fenix uses in small lights, and this is no exception. I would prefer a warmer emitter and strongly prefer for the Fenix E12 V2.0 AA EDC flashlight to accept 14500 cells. Overall, for the price, this is a nice little light. Long Review The Big Table Fenix E12 V2.0 AA EDC Flashlight What I like is the compact size for a 2xAA light, that the beam is nice - cool but without any green that I can see. The EDC light can be operated using the all-inclusive tail switch to turn the light on and off and cycle through the modes by tapping the switch. Alternatively the head of the E12 V2 can be tightened and loosened to cycle through the modes if that suits you better. When you open the box, one of the first things you’ll notice is the size. It’s one of the smallest AA flashlights currently on the market. Especially when you consider it has a tail switch.

PRODUCT REVIEWS

A low voltage warning function will gradually reduce the output until low is reached if the battery voltage is no longer sufficient to support the current brightness level, and will remain in low until the batteries are completely drained or replaced. The Fenix E12 V2.0 is IP68 (2 meter) rated. I did my usual glass-of-water soak. That’s not testing the absolutely limits but honestly, how many of us is subjecting our light to even this amount of submersion? The Fenix E12 V2.0 passed with flying colors. Closing Thoughts on the Fenix E12 V2.0
