About this deal

This can cause water to leave your taps at a slower rate. This can cause overheating problems as your boiler only produces heat that is appropriate for the water in the pipes. If there’s one Glow-worm boiler fault code we hate, it’s the F9. There’s a good reason for this. Even though it’s officially the “water pressure sensor error,” the code doesn’t actually point out any specific problem.

Any strange noises you're hearing could be caused by a variety of things including air in the system, alternatively the water pressure could be too low or it's kettling. You might be able to determine the type of problem your boiler is having based on the type of noise it is making. Take a look at our guide to central heating noises to help you determine the cause of your noisy boiler. PCB fault (F13) If the pressure sensor registers above or below the recommended reading, then the PCB will shut down the boiler and display the fault code F9 on a Glow Worm boiler. Pipe connector leaks throughout the house can be less costly as they are easy to replace. They may require more labour costs if there is limited access to the affected areas. The PCB is the central hub of the boiler’s electrical operations. It must be confirmed that every stage has been completed safely before it can signal that the next step can begin. The pressure sensor is an electrical component that can easily be damaged or malfunction over time. This really is a fact-finding mission. What we’ve found with the F9 code, is that many affected boilers are running on a central heating system that has not been flushed, or doesn’t have adequate chemicals in it. Mechanical thermostats are a more traditional type of control where you simply turn the dial up or down to get your required temperature. You can set a specific time for your central heating to come on and turn off. If you wish to change the timings, you will have to manually change them on the thermostat. This incredibly easy to use handheld remote control will allow your customers to have complete control of their central heating and hot water from the comfort of their armchair. They’ll be able to simply programme the central heating system to suit their timetable and lifestyle. The Climapro₂ RF is compatible with all Glow-worm boilers making central heating control easier than ever.

If you have a 24CI or 30CI, you might have noticed a F16 fault code on the display. Sometimes, the code can disappear by itself, but it’s likely it will return in a matter of days. Using electronic sensors, programmable thermostats maintain the temperature of your home to within one degree of your chosen setting. They are often more accurate than traditional thermostats as you can easily increase or decrease the temperature at specific times so you are only heating your home when you need to.

Easy to install RF receiver which can be fitted inside the Energy combi or Energy system boiler, simple wireless setup, no electrician required This technology has lots of advantages as it can better your energy efficiency and reduce heating costs as your boiler will only fire up when it's needed. Never attempt to fix the F16 error code on a Glow-worm boiler yourself, always hire a Gas Safe registered engineer. There are many potential issues that they will look into, diagnose and be able to repair: eBus connected Climapro₂ RF means the boiler will modulate to manage heating in the most efficient way possible

To legally perform the work, they will need to register as a Gas Safe engineer. This involves removing the boiler unit’s cover. Sometimes, you can identify a leak. It’s worth looking around radiators and other visible areas for piping. The printed circuit board (PCB) is effectively the ‘brain’ of modern boilers as it sends and receives signals from all the electrical components within the unit. A faulty, broken or unconfigured PCB will prevent your Glow-worm boiler from working properly. How to fix a faulty PCB We’ve been called out to both Betacom 24Cs and Betacom 30Cs, where they work perfectly one day, but produce no heat or domestic hot water the next. In these cases, the boiler will typically show F61, F62, and F63 fault codes. However, fault codes F64 – F67 can point to the same problems. Thermostats and sensors are an essential part of any heating system because they not only give you complete control over your boiler and the temperature in your home but they also enable you to dramatically reduce your energy bills. If you own a Glow-worm boiler, you’ll be pleased to know that Glow-worm offers an impressive collection of optional boiler controls, including room thermostats, wireless outdoor sensors and intelligent heating assistants, all designed to make it easier for you to utilise your boiler.

Like the F14 fault code, we find the F1, F3 and F4 are common on the Glow-worm Flexicom CX 24 and 30. These fault codes aren’t simple as the F14, as a lot of the time, all codes will show all at once and this doesn’t help an engineer to determine the exact problem. Please note, only in USA is the domestic mains supply called high voltage, in the UK like most other places in the world it's called low voltage, 230 volt AC is low voltage, and 24 volt is extra low voltage. Essentially I have tapped in directly from the boiler 230v supply to the heat link then took a jumper cable from the Live terminal of the heat link and put that into terminal 2 on the heatlink. Then added one more core from terminal 3 on the heat link then wired it into the ‘RT’ terminal on the boiler as suggested in the tutorial/forum post.

Glow Worm boilers and other heating systems can be characterised by two types of pressure: one is gas, the other water. An issue with the PCB is commonly seen after a new one has been fitted due to the incorrect model being installed or it being unconfigured. In the case that one of these is the problem, a heating engineer will be able to safely replace or configure the PCB.Now this has fixed the previous issue I had with the boiler not turning on until I went over the set temperature on the thermostat but now it seems like my central heating is not heating when I change the tempature on the thermostat and when I go to my boiler I have a flashing radiator symbol. This optional boiler control is another great option if you want a basic room thermostat that lets you personalise your heating comfort whilst enhancing the efficiency of your system. The Glow-worm Climastat Room Thermostat can adjust the temperature of your radiators using built-in modulating regulation and by communicating directly with your boiler to achieve the desired room temperature. It features a traditional interface to make it easy for you to set heating programmes and to allow you to manage your heating in the most efficient way possible. Boasting a simple and discreet 2-wire connection, this control can be wall mounted in a room of your choice to allow you easy access at all times. Glow-worm Climapro 2 RF Control One of the most common problems occurs with Glow-worm boilers from the Flexicom CX range. In particular, this affects the Flexicom CX 24 and Flexicom CX 30 models. Smart thermostats are an advanced yet easy way of controlling your heating and hot water needs from your smart device. They are connected to your Wi-Fi network and use intelligent sensors and user-controlled apps which allows you to adjust the room’s temperature from your mobile phone or via voice command to your smart hub assistant such as Google Home and Alexa.
