About this deal

Manson's cheeky but thoughtful opinions combine with in-depth advice in such sections as "You're Wrong About Anything (But So Am I)" and "How To Be a Little Less Certain of Yourself” (hint: “if it’s down to me being screwed up, or everybody else being screwed up, it is far, far, far more likely that I’m the one who’s screwed up”). Irreverent self-help books are packed with powerful, relevant concepts and ideas that just might change your life.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck took the world by storm, selling almost 2 million copies in its first year alone. Controversial title aside, the book isn't about just not giving a damn, but about focusing WHAT to not give a damn about. In this episode, Sal, Adam and Justin talk with New York Times bestselling author or The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and Everything is F*cked.Like I sometimes get the blinkers on in such an intense way that I can lose perspective on things around me. I'm doing the Popsugar 2017 Reading challenge and needed to read a book from a genre I don't usually read. The gist of this "groundbreaking" book is that there's no way to insulate yourself from bad times, and even if you could, those hardships are what make us better people. It’s the first truly no BS guide to flourishing in a crazy, crazy world—a truly counterintuitive approach to living a good life.

With titles like "The Most Important Question of Your Life," "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck," and "No, You Can't Have It All," his work was reposted by Elizabeth Gilbert, Chris Hemsworth, Will Smith, and Chelsea Handler. Well, I agree with everything Manson says, but (like other reviewers have mentioned) everything he's written about is common sense stuff. The story of his girlfriend cheating on him for example was useful in how we can be responsible and take action for what feel like injustices against us. I've read other self-help books and while they're good and all, Mark Manson really engages you on a personal level. His books have sold around 20 million copies, been translated into more than 65 languages, and reached number one in more than a dozen countries. The epitome of this as a big music fan was the Dave Mustaine and Pete Best stories which I thought articulated the overall theme of the book in the best way possible. An in-your-face guide to living with integrity and finding happiness in sometimes-painful places… This book, full of counterintuitive suggestions that often make great sense, is a pleasure to read and worthy of rereading.
