If I ever have kids, I will make sure they get the chance to experience these wonderful, colourful books. The hotel manager tried not to smile when he saw Mr Topsy Turvy walk into his hotel carrying his suitcase upside down and with his topsy turvy hat on his head.

Although the idea did not win the competition, Roger Hargreaves liked the idea so much he wrote to Marc Penfold saying he would use the idea. What Roger really wanted was to make children laugh, which is probably why his own favourite character is Mr Silly.

We didn't really understand how Mr Topsy-turvy just showed up unexpectedly and disappeared the same way.

I like this book because it was about a guy who always had stuff upside down, and he always reads back to front, and when he looks at pictures, he uses down instead of up. At the end, it has a [spoiler alert] little thing for you, where it says "can you say something topsy-turvy" Like instead of "Can we read a book now? We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts. I wish I still had these books but somehow most of them got lost with many house moves or my mum gave the rest away.

Eventually the hotel manager managed to work out what Mr Topsy Turvy was talking about, and he was taken up in the lift to a bedroom. How this geezer walks around with a hat placed like that is one epic sense of balance, or an awkward walking posture, but anyway, I don't think reality and Mr Men come in the same sentence!

Mind you, we may still be considered a little different, but like the effect that Mr Topsy-Turvey had on the town, our eccentricities have started to have an effect upon our culture as a whole (and even in some places, such as South Korea, their sporting heroes happen to be those who are really good at computer games). Plus it provides the opportunity of a lovely word game which my children relished, trying to outdo each other with absurdities.
