I didn’t love the miscommunication/ third act break up, but then I had to remind myself that the MCs are in high school and what happened can be quite realistic. I also wished for some more development with the side characters! Still, I do recommend this and really enjoyed the book on audio! They confided in each other about the ways of the world, about the issues they faced, and I think if they had been any different in their characters their roles, they never would’ve shared it. I think there’s so much that goes off this by knowing they could be ruined with the information they told, but knowing the other wouldn’t. Her success was so overly looked, she won, she played she was involved and they overlooked her like she was nothing. And it pained me, that the world saw her or her family name not of her own achievements. I love this book, but the ending???? It did not feel like the end. I was reading and thinking i still have a couple of chapters and then „The end“??? WHAT!!!Maybe im just sad that I finished. It was a fast read which makes me even sadder. This book is exactly what i love to read and i wish there would be more to it.This book will be at the top of my list and I will be re-reading it.

My girl deserved better, especially because she’s so talented. I loved her so much, and she’s extremely dedicated to the sport. But he saw her, as Maeve not an extension of Stevens. Wes saw her for her lifelong achievements, her running in the morning, extra time spent every second on the soccer field. The chlorinated kind she swims in. The perennial droplets soaking her adopted hometown. The waves she ventures out on to observe the ocean.
