About this deal

Then only from that place, we could begin the illustration and design, that was my only comfort zone in the project and where my time was least spent. Jesus is so kind and along the journey he has done some work on affirming my character and ways as a creative. HarperCollins had already published successful Infographic books like ‘Information is Beautiful’ by David McCandless and were considered industry leaders in this genre, their next step was to produce a Bible in this format! I love detail, meaning and purpose, which is why I love infographics, everything on the page has meaning and purpose down to the minutiae. The Infographic Bible focuses on the meta narrative, the key points of the major stories and themes, to give the reader insight into the bigger story and help you understand the complex or abstract themes in a relevant way.

That team included theological advisors, legal, admin, publishing and technical support as well as some training for me. This review is based on a free copy provided by the publisher for the purpose of creating this review.A printed data visualisation achievement that David McCandless describes as “ awesome and ambitious“. Unique and very impressive, the aim of “The Infographic Bible” is to help people understand the Bible through visual learning. However, the type face is so small and the font color so light, it is often hard to read and understand the information included by the author. Allow a book designer to review the finished book to ensure that information is clear and readable — this includes both the sizes and the colors used throughout the book.

One of those moments was seeing the totals of Jesus declaring himself being equally Son of God and Son of Man! Many theologies use the method of dividing God in to two parts; God’s transcendent nature and character. Conceptual designer, illustrator and lover of all things paper and ink, Karen Sawrey is passionate about engaging a visual generation with creative ways to see and digest information. When I shared my review of Edward Tufte’s latest data visualisation book, “Seeing with fresh eyes”, I did not mention how his challenge reminded me of this Infographic Bible. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.Biography: Conceptual designer, illustrator and lover of all things paper and ink, Karen Sawrey is passionate about engaging a visual generation with creative ways to see and digest information. Scripture excerpts throughout the book taken from the New Revised Standard Version, the New King James Version, and the Good News Translation. The way all of the material has been laid out makes understanding timelines, interlinking narratives and links between books , how prophesies from the old testament are fulfilled in the new - nuances of language - and much much more are included with exceptional depth and clarity. The second took place in the binding process: a number of pages have graphics or type getting lost in the book's gutter, leading the reader to wonder what information has gotten lost in the margins, unless the reader is willing to crack the books spine. I have two minor issues with this book: the print is sometimes too fine to be readable, and some information is lost in the center binding.

The process began with gathering a team of people who would support the project and be the scaffold to allow an infographic to be created. Ruth Bancewicz from The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion, the World Christian Database, Alan Hirsch of 100 Movements, Reverend Graham Singh from Church Planting Canada, Reverend Dr. These colorful creations visually depict the key concepts, important people, and most unusual facts from the Bible in a new and exciting way. The graphics lure you in and you find yourself peering more and more closely as different layers of information are revealed.I am still blown away by the unbelievable honour to even have been invited to pitch for this job, never mind being it’s author. From the intro the author says that this book is meant to point towards the Bible and encourage readers to go read the Bible. Postage-stamp size, this doesn’t tell you much; but, seen as a large two-page spread, it would reveal itself as a diagram ( see above) about the “wisdom, initiative, and opportunity” of women of influence in the Old Testament, produced with the aim of “engaging a visual generation”.
